Two Choices

Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him. (Malachi 3:18)

Reading through Malachi I was reminded of the clear distinctions we read between God's children, and everyone else. Simple, clear, yet eternally significant ...

Children of Wrath vs. Children of God

The Fool vs. The Wise
The Righteous vs. The Wicked
Sheep vs. Goats

Here in this passage we see again a contrast with the Righteous and the Wicked, but defined a bit further between those that serve, and do not serve God. Ultimately that indeed is our choice ... to serve, or not to serve. It is more than an identity, it's an action ... much like we read in the fourteenth chapter of John, if we love Him ... we will obey Him.

And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)

May we not treat our salvation as casually as a coin flip ... may we declare with sincerity, declaration, and resolve the same words that Joshua declared:

Choose wisely ... and daily ...

His,
~Matthew
