Coming into Harbor

There is always an unmistakable feeling of safety when I turn my boat into harbor and away from the open water. This is especially true if the conditions are rough, or a storm is rolling in.

As much safety that the harbor can offer, it is still limited. Limited both to this world, and even to certain grades of storms. Yet there is another Harbor, or rather Harbormaster, that calls us with His Grace to safety. Do we come to Him like that? Not as one who has safety to offer, but who is Safety Himself.

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3 ESV)

Christian, seek not the harbor, but the Harbormaster.

His,

~Matthew
