Running on Empty

Tuesday morning I started my day great!

I was coming off a good streak ... just living well by bringing God into and through my day and daily activities. Not as a checkbox, but as my every-moment-needed-life-support ...

' For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.' - Psalms 107:9

I remember driving to work thinking to myself something to the effect of: "I gotta be careful and not just run full force into this day without Him. I have a busy day and I need to stop and be still with Him."

... but I didn't.

Busyness pulled me away from Him, and stress and anxiety crept in ... yet I kept going so "I could just get though this next thing I gotta do."

... by the time I got home, I was spent, and less than empty ... I sit and ponder, "How did I move so far away from Him so quickly?"

It is just flabbergasting to me how I make poor decisions knowing full well what will happen ... it's like trying to get your health in control, yet continuing to make poor choices.

Yet ... He know this ... thank You LORD for Grace ...

It’s the light that pierces through you
To the darkest hidden place
It knows your deepest secrets
But it never looks away
It’s the gentle hand that pulls you
From the judgment of the crowd
When you stand before them guilty
And you’ve got no way out
Some may call it foolish and impossible
But for every heart it rescues it’s a miracle
It’s nothing less than scandalous
This love that took our place
Just call it what it is
Call it grace
