Immediately ...

82 times (in the ESV translation) we read the word "immediately" ...

Almost all of those occurrences are found in the Gospels and Acts (during Jesus's time and ministry on Earth, and the movement of the early church) ... interesting in itself that observation ...

Many of those occurrences we read about are of God moving ... healing ... revealing ...

We also see this used for others that "immediately" recognized Him, glorified Him ... and even a rooster that crowed immediately ... a sound that for one, pierced to the soul, while his Lord was pierced in the flesh ...

Yet what stands out to me the most was when He called, how some of the disciples (not all) are mentioned as "immediately" following Him ... and left their past life behind. (ref. Matthew 4:20, Mark 1:18)

I hear the call even today, even in this very moment ... is there anything I/we must "immediately" leave behind?

Perhaps that Word is for someone other than me ...

Blessings on this Friday!

"Whenever there is a spiritual drain in your life, correct it immediately. Realize that something has been coming between you and God, and change it or remove it at once." – Oswald Chambers
