Choose Life

Reading through the book of Judges is ... emotional.

Frustrating, heartbreaking, saddening ... and sometimes briefly inspiring. However, Israel was tested ... and did not pass. The final words of the book are both a repeated theme as well as a sad epitaph ...

'Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. ' - Judges 21:25

Echos the words captured generations later in Proverbs (found both in 14:12 and 16:25)

' There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.' - Proverbs 14:12

May we see and hold on to a couple very important truths here ...

Our natural ways are not of the LORD ... so often we are lead astray by feelings, emotions, and temptation ... and can even so easily try and justify them ...

Secondly, and possibly more importantly, these "ways" are not means of control as the world often looks at "religion". His ways lead to something, and it's not control and oppression ...

It is LIFE.

May we choose life ... may we choose Him ...
