Delight
What does the way in which we live our life reveal to others?
Our greatness? Our success? Our goodness? Essentially self-focus?
Maybe our love for others? Love for this world/environment? Love for humanity?
That certainly sounds better ... but what about something even greater?
' Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, "Great is the Lord , who delights in the welfare of his servant!"' - Psalms 35:27
David, yes a soon-to-be king, perhaps written with other perspectives in mind, but is still nonetheless stating ...
"LORD, let anything righteous and good in me point others to You and bring You glory!"
How could I live in such a way that when others see anything good in me at all, they don't think "Matt is ... " ... but rather "Matt's God is ... "
How do we do this?!
As Marceen pointed out when I shared this today, the answer is right in this very verse. It's written all throughout Scripture. It's so simple ... yet not easy.
Delight.
Delight in the Lord, always.
Or as John Piper and the idea of Christian Hedonism state: "God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him."
' Let those who DELIGHT in MY righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, "Great is the Lord , who delights in the welfare of his servant!"' - Psalms 35:27
... and in response? God gets glory ... and He, the creator of the universe ... in return ... delights in us ... in you ... personally.
Delight in the Lord, always.
