Struggling to See

Shortly after some (more) miracles, that Jesus displayed to reveal the truth of His Message and Himself, we see the disciples struggle to understand ...

Jesus responds ...

Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” “And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said to him, “Seven.” And he said to them, “Do you not yet understand?” (Mark 8:18-21 ESV)

... don't you understand that you are standing before the King of Kings, Creator of all, God Himself?

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. (Colossians 1:15–20 ESV)

In reading this passage, and going through some struggles of my own (and burdens being carried, many unnecessarily) I can't help but hear Christ through His Words here stir and convict me by way of reminder ... reminder of all He has done, and all of who He is ...

"Do you not yet understand, Matthew?"

Increase my faith, LORD.

His,
~Matthew
