Meditations

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. - Philippians 4:8 NKJV

I love studying God’s Word. We will never exhaust its depth, its truth, or its richness.

From the familiar stories to the lesser-known ones, and everything in between—

wisdom and literature, history and correspondence, prophecy and song, eyewitness accounts of Christ—

all of it revealing who GOD is and what HE has done.

And yet, sometimes a simple reminder rises above the complexity.

This verse has become a diamond of truth to me—

seen from different facets of life, refracted through different seasons and perspectives—

each one pointing back to the ultimate fulfillment of all that is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy: Christ Himself.

There is so much richness here. So many ways to approach these truths. So many paths that lead back to the same center.

And then there are the lesser things—

the things I so easily allow my mind to dwell on instead.

Lord, teach me again what is worthy of my meditation.
