Leading Others

This picture always makes me smile! One of my daughters loves dance, and ballet in particular. My youngest decided she wanted to learn from her, and while the love and joy is easily captured in this picture, so are their different "styles"!

While a simple and minor example, it was a reminder to me of the importance to lead well. We can't be sure that when we lead, everyone will follow ...

... but some will.

Many are leaders in this world (home, businesses, churches, etc.) yet many are leaders that don't even know it, and others are following us.

Jeroboam was a leader too, in Israel, and he knew it! Yet his legacy is one of the most tragic of them all. He made Israel sin.

And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he sinned and made Israel to sin.” (1 Kings 14:16 )

In fact, we read in Mark a stark warning about leading others into sin ...

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. (Mark 9:42)

It is one thing for the "blind to lead the blind", but for those that profess Christ, may we bring glory to Christ by walking in the Light as He is Light. (1 John 1:7)

Lead like others are watching, because they are ...

His,
~Matt
