"When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." - John 19:30

"It is finished" ...  in greek, τέλος ... transliterated teleō ... 

What a word!

This was way more than a word of ending ... finishing ... 

This word has been found in papyrus documents being placed on receipts for taxes ... it meant:

"paid in full"

Let that sink in.

This wasn't a job ... it wasn't a statement ... 

It was a transaction.

Payment for sin to a just and holy God ... paid in full.

... so what must we do? Repent - and be saved ... 

Turn over our sin, our flesh, our life ... turn ... and follow ...
